2017 NCSG Convention Preview

Things are a little crazy here at the NCSG/CSIA office this week as we gear up for the 40th annual National Chimney Sweep Guild Convention, but I wanted to take just a few minutes to give you a head’s up on some of the main events you don’t want to miss if you’ll be joining us in Louisville.

Tuesday, March 14

CSIA Board of Directors meeting | 3-5pm | Combs Chandler
This meeting is open to anyone wishing to attend. New business will include installing new board members for the upcoming year.

Chimney Sweeping Around the World | 6-8pm | McCreary
A look at current global trends in the chimney industry, presented by CSIA Education Director, Ashley Eldridge, and former CSIA President, John Pilger.

Wednesday, March 15

CSIA Information Meeting | 9:45 -10:30am | Archibald & Addition
Come hear CSIA’s incoming president, Chuck Hall, as he presents some of the great highlights of 2016 and reveals some exciting news for CSIA’s immediate future. If you are a CSIA Certified professional, we strongly encourage you to attend!

Keynote Address | 11:00am – 12:30pm | Archibald & Addition
This year’s keynote, entitled “The Cold Ugly Truth About Success” will be provided by Larry Winget.

Opening Night Reception | 7-10pm | Sports & Social Club at 4th Street Live!
There’s really no better event for catching up with old friends or making new ones. This year’s reception is being held at the Louisville’s 4th Street Sports & Social Club — a short walk from the Galt House Hotel. Tickets are currently sold out, but some may become available at convention if others are unable to attend.

Thursday, March 16

Group Photo | 11:30am | TBD
Need an alibi for Thursday morning? Want to cement your place in the NCSG legacy? These are both good reasons to participate in the annual group photo. We’ll provide further location details closer to that date.

New Sweep Seminar & Tradeshow Sneak Preview | 11:50am -12:30pm  Willis
If you are one of our new CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps (that is, became certified at some point after last year’s convention) or just a first-time convention attendee, this is a no-brainer. Come get to know some of the CSIA & NCSG board and staff members and get an early guided tour of the tradeshow floor!

Industry Tradeshow & Exhibition | 1-6pm | Grand Ballroom A-C
This is your chance to meet some of the CSIA Board Members at the CSIA booth, purchase CCS, CDET, and Master Sweep swag at the NCSG/CSIA retail booth, and network with manufacturers and distributors from around the country.

Friday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day)

Industry Tradeshow & Exhibition | 9:00am -12pm | Grand Ballroom A-C

CSIA Benefit Auction | 8-11pm | Ballroom A
A night of incredible deals to benefit both CSIA and the annual Sweeps Week event! Bring your checkbook and don’t forget to wear your GREEN in honor of St. Paddy … and don’t forget to bring some green, because the auction bar is cash-only.

Saturday, March 18

Closing Keynote | 2-3:30pm | Grand Ballroom C
“Win the Battle” presented by incoming CSIA president, Chuck Hall.

Banquet & Awards Ceremony | 7-11pm | Grand Ballroom A
Come celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the NCSG with us in-style! Highlights include an amazing dinner spread, cash bar, and the presentation of both CSIA & NCSG annual awards. This is a semi-formal event and tickets can be purchased in advance at registration.

Okay. That definitely hits the main attractions. In between all those events above, don’t forget to check out all the great business & technical education sessions! If you’re a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep, these will be a HUGE help in getting you those 48 CEUs you will need to bypass the CCS exam when it’s time to renew your credential.

Looking forward to seeing you all next week!
