2016 Recap and 2017 Preview

From all reports, 2016 has been a banner year for many of our CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps & Certified Dryer Exhaust Technicians and the same could safely be said about the Chimney Safety Institute of America.

Here are a some of the highlights from 2016:

  • Launch of CSIA Master Chimney Sweep Credential
  • Launch of CSIA Roadshow education
  • Four totally sold-out National Chimney Sweep Training Schools
  • A new record number of CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps (1,811 as of 12/22)
  • A new record number of CSIA Certified Dryer Exhaust Technicians (384 as of 12/22)
  • A record amount of funds raised at the annual CSIA Auction
  • Features in the Washington Post and several other national and regional publications
  • Record breaking traffic (and referrals) on our website (which has averaged more than a MILLION pageviews over the past two years)
  • Speaking of our website, we also completely rebuilt http://www.csia.org from the ground up!

As excited as we are about an excellent 2016, we are even more excited about what’s in store for 2017:

  • Introducing a brand-new Rope Safety Course being held in January and May.
  • Holding a total of FIVE National Chimney Sweep Training School sessions, the first of which is taking place February 13-18.
  • Attending and presenting at several affiliated industry conferences and trade shows, including: American Society of Home Inspectors (Jan 21-23), Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (March 1 -4), National Chimney Sweep Guild (March 13-18), National Air Duct Cleaners Association (March 20-22), and Community Association Institute (May 4-6).
  • Hopefully breaking all of the records we broke in 2016!
