Even advertisers get the value of a cozy fire

Major auto manufacturer Honda is running a promotional/social media campaign involving pop crooner Michael Bolton. Essentially, anyone with a Twitter, Instagram or account that accepts #hashtags can ask Bolton to create a spoken word or musical ditty. While CSIA is not involved with this tongue-in-cheek advertisement, the 31-second video that spells out the rules of the contest has a familiar feel. Why?  Just about half of the commercial features multiple camera angles of a beautiful, roaring fire in the background. Obviously, there’s a reason: nothing captures the “cozy warmth” essence of the holidays quite like wood burning in the fireplace. It’s an iconic symbol of an American tradition.
